Founded in 2004 by Mathieu Néron and Jean-François Durocher in Terrebonne, Quebec, Tecksoft quickly established itself as a leader in the development of electronic medical record (EMR) management software and clinic management software for ophthalmology and optometry professionals.

In June 2024, Tecksoft reached another important milestone by joining the Banyan Software family.
